Civil Engineers - Levels 2 and 3

Perteet is currently seeking qualified candidates to fill both our Civil Engineer 2 and 3 openings in our Seattle Office.  E-2 candidates will possess a 4-year degree in civil engineering and 3-4 years' experience.  E-3 candidates must possess a P.E. and 5 years' experience in the transportation design field.  Experience with Civil 3D, In-Roads, CAD and WSDOT projects preferred.

  • The essential duties and responsibilities of these positions include:
  • Assignment to project teams.  E-3’s may make major design recommendations.
  • Preparation of design computations and quantity estimates.
  • E-3’s will act as lead designer on projects.
  • Preparation of reports, opinions and recommendations for the approval of the senior staff concerning the direction of the project.
  • E-3’s will act as a technical advisor to junior professional staff assigned to the project and direct CADD technicians in the preparation of plan sets.
  • May serve as onsite project representative during construction.
  • E-3’s will be assigned component portions of major projects to gain experience in project management. 
  • May be assigned "small" projects to gain experience in project management.
  • Candidates will assist in preparation of specifications.
  • Candidates will assist in client contact and communication pertaining to specific projects.
  • E-3’s will act as QA/QC reviewers, able to conduct detailed design reviews.

Engineering CAD Technician

Perteet is seeking qualified candidates for our CAD Technician classification.

Successful candidates must be self-motivated team players and present a good fit for our employee-owned culture.  A drafting certification from a technical school/college is required.  Experience in AutoCAD, Civil3D, Microstation or InRoads is needed.  Good communication and teamwork skills and the desire to grow in the engineering profession are a must.  The candidate must have 2 to 3 years on-the-job experience in the civil engineering industry and be familiar with working on public works transportation projects.

Resident Engineer

Perteet is currently searching for a Resident Engineer to support Perteet’s construction management team.  

The successful candidate will have prior experience working on public roadways, utilities, and private development projects w/emphasis on roadway improvements, underground utilities construction, and project documentation per State and Federal requirements. He/she will oversee construction projects, performance of contractors, run meetings, respond to all contractor submittals, manage schedules and budgets, and monitor regulatory compliance of all project documentation. Candidates must have the physical capacity to be able to walk on rough terrain, handle utility frames and grates, and be able to function in high traffic areas.  Some long hours, night, and weekend work might be necessary during construction season. Excellent verbal and written communication skills with team members, developers, contractors, and designers are a must. Women and minorities strongly encouraged to apply.

Qualifications:

  • A self-starter team player with positive attitude.
  • Associates Degree in engineering or construction discipline with 3-5 years related experience in construction industry.  Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or equivalent is preferred.  PE and CCM preferred.

Construction Observer

We are currently searching for Construction Observers to support Perteet's construction management team. 

Successful candidates will have prior experience working on public roadways, utilities, and private development projects with an emphasis on roadway improvements, underground utilities construction, pavement expertise, and project documentation per State and Federal requirements.  Candidates must have the physical capacity to be able to walk on rough terrain, handle utility frames and grates, and be able to function in high traffic areas.  Some long hours and weekend work necessary during summer.  Excellent verbal and written communication with team members, developers, contractors, and designers are a must.  Federally funded project experience is desirable. 

Qualifications:

  • 3-5 years of experience in the administration and observation of construction activities.

Marketing Coordinator

We are currently searching for a Marketing Coordinator to support Perteet's proposal and marketing efforts. 

The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment and possess an exceptional ability to multitask.  A collaborative can-do attitude and ability to complete projects accurately with attention to detail is a must.  In this role, the successful candidate will produce a full range of proposal and presentation responses, provide graphics production support for interviews, maintain and update database and server folders continually, and assist in development and support of marketing materials.

Qualifications:

  • Excellent writing and editing skills
  • Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign proficiency a must) as well as MS Office Suite
  • Understanding of graphic design/layout principles
  • Bachelor's degree from four year college or university; or minimum of two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • A/E industry experience preferred
