SR 167 Extension Environmental—WSDOT

The SR 167 extension will complete a vital freeway connection in south Puget Sound. The project will provide a six-lane freeway—including carpool/transit lanes—between I-5 and the current terminus of SR 167 in Puyallup. It also includes a new four-lane freeway connecting I-5 to SR 509 that serves the Port of Tacoma. This extension will move freight faster, relieve traffic congestion by providing commuters and regional travelers with faster and safer travel options, and apply innovative environmental designs to help protect area waters from pollution and improve the stream habitat.

Perteet is assisting WSDOT in an overall assessment of the analysis conducted for the final environmental impact statement—as well as future analysis that may be needed for operational and forecasting needs in the design and permit stage of the overall project.
