| Monterey-Salinas Transit “Designing for Transit” |

| “Designing for Transit,” a manual written by Perteet, was first published in August 1996. It serves as a guide for new development projects in the areas served by Monterey—Salinas Transit. The manual identifies 10 principles for developing more transit-oriented communities.
The next update to the manual update will taken into account MST’s and Santa Cruz Transit’s plans to conduct Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) corridor planning studies in the following corridors by providing preliminary BRT transit designs:
- Highway 1 from Monterey to Santa Cruz, including the TAMC rail corridor
- Soquel Avenue in Santa Cruz
- East Alisal Street in Salinas
- North Main Street in Salinas
- Fremont Street in Monterey and Seaside
