| SR 167 Corridor Plan—WSDOT |
| |
| Perteet is assisting WSDOT in organizing the corridor partner groups, engaging a public process, identifying corridor issues, and evaluating past work all to facilitate a smooth transition to the environmental evaluation. SR 167 is the primary state route connecting the Port of Tacoma; cities of Auburn, Kent and Renton; and the greater Seattle metropolitan region and port. The corridor serves the Green River Valley Manufacturing and Industrial Center, including major employers such as Boeing, and the growing number of housing developments throughout and adjacent to the valley. The corridor also serves the region's largest freight distribution center with approximately one-third of the region’s trucking and storage facilities located in the corridor.
The SR 167 Corridor Plan will study short-and long-term safety, mobility and freight needs on the SR 167 corridor, including:
- A long-term vision of SR 167 that reflects the regional land use and transportation relationship
- Mobility and safety needs and solutions for the SR 167 corridor project limits (So. 180th to SR 161) through the year 2030
- Potential short–term solutions that complement long-term needs
