| WHO WE ARE > HISTORY
Way back when…
Rich Perteet, PE, founded Perteet Engineering, Inc. in 1988. The firm had a modest beginning (that’s an understatement). Our now-spacious offices began as one desk in the back room of a friend’s downtown Everett office. Meetings were a bit cramped, and things in that tiny room became even tighter as Rich hired engineers and support staff. At the same time, he introduced ideas that spread his ingenious and entrepreneurial spirit throughout the company.
Today, Perteet is a multi-million dollar firm with more than 100 employees that work throughout the Puget Sound Region. Most of our projects are local, with the exception of our nationally regarded transit division. We now boast a client base that stretches coast to coast across some of the most prestigious markets in the country.
In 2004, we officially changed our name from Perteet Engineering to Perteet Inc., as a nod to our heritage while also honoring our growing number of non-engineering divisions.
When Rich retired in 2005, Kevin Weed was named President, Crystal Donner became Executive Vice President and Joel Birchman was appointed Vice President.
We’ll always be committed to serving our clients, and we continue to share Rich’s belief in community involvement. That’s why our employees participate in a variety of volunteer organizations and have been consistently recognized by United Way for their generosity.
We’re proud to carry on Rich Perteet’s legacy of exceptional client service, deep integrity, technical clarity and the betterment of our communities.
