Candidates with prior experience working on private and public works projects that include some or all of the following types of construction are particularly sought:

  • Concrete and asphalt paving.
  • Heavy civil earthwork.
  • Roadway layout including rough and fine grading.
  • Wet utilities such as storm drainage, sanitary sewer, and water systems.

Additional skills for the successful candidate include:

Perteet is currently searching for a Resident Engineer/Construction Manager for statewide opportunities.  The successful candidate will have prior experience working on public roadways, utilities, and private development projects w/emphasis on roadway improvements, underground utilities construction, and project documentation per State and Federal requirements.  They will oversee construction projects, performance of contractors, run meetings, respond to all contractor submittals, manage schedules and budgets, and monitor regulatory compliance of all project documentation.  Candidates must have the physical capacity to be able to walk on rough terrain, handle utility frames and grates, and be able to function in high traffic areas.  Some long hours, night, and weekend work might be necessary during construction season.  Excellent verbal and written communication skills with team members, developers, contractors, and designers are a must.  Women and minorities strongly encouraged to apply.

Perteet is currently searching for a Lead Engineer to add to our Transportation Design Division in one of our North Central Region Offices (Wenatchee, WA).

Primary duties:

  • Conducting work requiring judgment in the independent evaluation, selection, and substantial adaptation and modification of standard techniques, procedures, and criteria.
  • Determines major project design decisions in conjunction with clients and engineers such as setbacks, location of roadways, storm drains, sewer, and other utility routes, etc.

Perteet Inc., a civil engineering, planning, environmental and construction management firm, with a public sector client focus, seeks a qualified Environmental Planner (at either the 1 or 2 level) to assist our environmental services team on a full-time basis. Located in one of Perteet’s Puget Sound  offices, this position would provide document research and preparation as well as permitting support for a wide range of environmental, transportation, and  civil engineering projects.  The position responsibilities will include use of GIS tools and applications to perform graphical and technical analysis needed in the preparation of environmental documents with local, state, and federal agencies. The successful candidate will support the Environmental Division and other Perteet service groups with a wide range of project tasks.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with a diverse environmental team to prepare geospatial analysis, develop exhibits, perform research, and prepare environmental documentation in support of design and permitting projects.
  • Work under supervision to coordinate environmental elements of larger projects including researching agency requirements, compiling, and consolidating existing documentation, assisting with field investigation and assessments, and supporting project team members to monitor, track and report on environmental requirements.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of map production using ArcGIS with AutoCAD
  • Ability and desire to perform field activities in support of critical area, contaminated site, and industrial land use projects
  • Knowledge of the DOE Wetland Rating System and wetland delineation using the USCAE 1987 delineation manual and regional supplements
  • Knowledge of GIS dataset types and imagery formats, data resources, and limitations
  • Experience with relational databases
  • Bachelor’s degree in environmental, planning or GIS related field
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and under daily supervision

Experience in AutoCAD or MicroStation is required and any experience with Civil 3D or InRoads would be beneficial.

Essential duties and responsibilities of a CAD Technician:

  • Manage shifting priorities and communicate with project managers, designers, and other CAD Technicians.
  • Troubleshoot, research, and problem solve CAD file and software issues.
  • Set up and prepare drawings, exhibits, and engineering plans using Perteet CAD standards or other client standards.
  • Manage AutoCAD or MicroStation drawings including plan sets, XREF’s, layers, title blocks, blocks, and viewport creation.
  • Produce isometric drawings, perspective drawings, details, overlays, base drawings, maps, and illustrations.
  • Modify drawings based on designer’s “redline” markups.
  • Use other digital formats (i.e. Bluebeam, GIS, Adobe Photoshop) to create graphics and CAD drawings.
  • Maintain records of CAD deliverables and supporting files at key project milestones.
