Perteet is currently seeking qualified candidates to fill our Civil CAD Technician opening in both Central and Western Washington. Successful candidates must have excellent work ethic, be a self-motivated team player, and present a good fit for our employee-owned culture. Good communication and teamwork skills, and the desire to learn and grow are a must. A drafting certificate from a technical school or equivalent is preferred. Experience in AutoCAD or MicroStation is required and any experience with Civil 3D or InRoads would be beneficial.

  • Manage shifting priorities and communicate with project managers, designers, and other CAD Technicians.
  • Troubleshoot, research, and problem solve CAD file and software issues.
  • Set up and prepare drawings, exhibits, and engineering plans using Perteet CAD standards or other client standards.
  • Manage AutoCAD or MicroStation drawings, including plan sets, XREFs, layers, title blocks, blocks, and viewport creation.
  • Produce isometric drawings, perspective drawings, details, overlays, base drawings, maps, and illustrations.

Perteet is currently seeking entry-level engineers for both our Energy Services and Civil Engineering Divisions. Perteet, a civil engineering, planning, and construction management consulting firm is searching for a Wetland Ecologist.

Projects involve wetland and stream assessments and mitigation primarily for public projects in Western Washington and sometimes in Eastern Washington.

Responsibilities include:

  • Being a knowledgeable resource for multidisciplinary design teams with a civil engineering and capital project focus.
  • Scoping, conducting and delivering wetland delineations, stream assessments, and habitat impact assessments associated with public infrastructure projects and industrial land development
  • Participating in client outreach and project development activities, including project identification and tracking, proposal support, and client relations
  • Managing legacy wetland and stream-related monitoring projects, including client contacts, budgets, expenses, and supplemental contract needs.
  • Writing technical reports as the primary scientific author and preparing wetland and stream-related permit documentation to industry standards.
  • Working with in-house engineers, planners, landscape architects, and multidisciplinary staff to prepare project deliverables related to natural systems.
  • Coordinating and collaborating with US Army Corps of Engineers, Department of Ecology, Fish and Wildlife agencies, Department of Natural Resources, and city/county local agencies.

Minimum Qualifications include:

  • PWS certification or demonstrated ability to obtain certification in the first 12 months of employment.
  • Successful public agency project experience in Washington State.
  • Advanced degree in biology, environmental science, natural resources management, or closely related field to be considered a “biologist” by training and expertise.
  • At least 3 years of experience in wetland/stream environmental consulting.
  • Completion of Department of Ecology training for wetland rating assessments and demonstrated knowledge of wetland and stream ecosystems in Washington State and in the Puget Sound lowlands.
  • Demonstrated ability to conduct and manage, with limited supervision, wetland determinations/delineations, stream assessments, wetland ratings, functional assessments, fish and wildlife habitat assessments, biological evaluations/assessments, and mitigation planning and design.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite, SharePoint, GPS devices, and experience using GIS applications.
  • Demonstrated success in communications, organizational skills, and writing skills appropriate for environmental consulting.

  • Successful public agency project experience in Washington State.
  • BS or higher degree in geology, environmental science, remediation management, or similar study that aligns with the environmental assessment profession.
  • Demonstrated ability to conduct and manage, with limited supervision, environmental site assessments, field investigations, drilling and sampling programs, laboratory data management and reporting, and field safety programs.
  • Demonstrated ability to produce clearly written reports and coordinate the organization and preparation of project deliverables.
