Public Works Preparedness Initiative

City of Everett, WA

Perteet performed a comprehensive review of the current preparedness program at the City of Everett Public Works Department. The project, funded by the Public Works Department, began by conducting a department-wide survey to gauge the level of employee preparedness and experience responding to emergencies. The project included reviewing current planning documents and holding interviews and discussions with the key divisions throughout the department. A gap analysis was prepared detailing the findings and recommended planning and programmatic actions the Public Works Department could take to increase their level of preparedness and improve response and recovery during emergencies. Perteet has also been retained to assist Everett with implementing actions identified within the gap analysis and facilitate an update to the Public Works Department emergency operations plan and departmental operations center in preparation for testing the processes and procedures during the 2019 Snohomish County Whidbey Island Fault functional exercise.
