Public Works Facility Assessment and Siting Analysis

City of Poulsbo, WA

The City of Poulsbo continues to reach out to Perteet for a variety of environmental services that support a diverse range of community projects. One of the most important City projects over the last two years has been the relocation of their Public Works Facility from its aged and deteriorating downtown facility to a renovated commercial site located next to its solid waste transfer and equipment laydown yard. Perteet performed two task order assignments to help the City understand the legacy conditions of its downtown facility and assess any environmental concerns or cleanup liabilities of the new location.

Because the City-owned the current property since 1960, there was no concern for inheriting cleanup liabilities. Therefore, Perteet recommended a modified Phase I Environmental Site Assessment that expedited the environmental review and accelerated a Phase II Site Assessment of known and suspected contaminated areas. This approach allowed Perteet to complete Phase I, Phase II, and hazardous materials surveys within an eight-week period at a substantial cost savings to the City.

Perteet’s team was very responsive. I could not have achieved my schedule commitments without their support.
